Who We Are
Go Baby Go was founded on the belief that no family should have to choose between purchasing diapers and meeting other basic needs. As a nonprofit diaper bank serving Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon Counties, we are committed to providing essential baby items while connecting families with resources that promote the health and well-being of their children.
Through community partnerships, generous supporters, and dedicated volunteers, we work every day to reduce diaper need and strengthen families across our region.
Go Baby Go Diaper Bank (GBG) was founded in 2021 by Taneisha Knox with a simple but powerful mission: to ensure that no family has to choose between purchasing diapers and meeting other basic needs. After recognizing the financial burden diaper need places on families in the community, Taneisha was inspired to create an organization dedicated to providing essential baby items and supporting parents during times of need.
Since its founding, Go Baby Go has distributed more than 150,000 diapers to families across Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon Counties, with the organization experiencing an average annual growth of 25% as community needs continue to increase.
The work of Go Baby Go is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to strengthening families. By partnering with local organizations, businesses, healthcare providers, and community members, GBG continues to expand its reach and ensure that more children have access to the basic necessities they need for a healthy start.
As the organization grows, Go Baby Go remains dedicated to being a trusted community resource and creating lasting, positive change—one family, one child, and one diaper at a time.
Our Story
Our Mission
Closing the Diaper Shortage Gap in Sumter County!
According to the National Diaper Bank Network, the “shortage gap” is defined as the difference between what parents can afford and what children need. As an organization, our mission is to serve as a supplemental support agency that helps fill this gap by providing essential resources to ensure children have what they need to thrive.
Our Vision
A community where no child lacks basic necessities due to financial hardship. Our Impact
150,000+ diapers distributed
1000+ babies served
Serving families across 3 counties
Partnering with healthcare providers, child care programs, churches and community organizations.
Why It Matters
1 in 2 families in the United States with young children cannot afford an adequate supply of diapers to keep their infant or child clean, dry, and healthy.
Diapers are not covered by any government assistance program in South Carolina.
Insufficient access to clean diapers can lead to health concerns, including diaper rash, skin irritation, skin breakdown, and urinary tract infections.
1 in 4 mothers reports missing at least one day of work each month due to diaper-related issues.
The stress of diaper need has also been linked to increased rates of maternal depression, impacting the overall well-being of families.
